    Centurion Site Services Ltd is a leading provider of specialist traffic management services throughout the U.K. Our continued expansion has resulted in a vacancy for a Project Manager to join our hard-working team.


    Although our head office is in Stourton, Leeds, this role requires a level of flexibility due to the locations of different clients and the requirement to attend meetings across the UK. This enables us to consider applicants from all areas of England that hold a full UK Driving Licence. Office space is available at several of our depots if required.


    The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordination, preparation, delivery and completion of works based on specific allocated existing clients. The role will require you to undertake a variety of tasks including the technical planning of traffic management systems, liaising with clients and ensuring that Operatives are provided all information and briefed to a high standard.


    The structure of the company means that you will be able to work remotely on occasions and draw support from several departments to ensure all deadlines are met.


    Role Requirements

    ·         Management of the information entered in the companies bespoke system

    The nature of the majority of our customer’s works means we qualify as key workers so as to enable them to undertake those works.  The infrastructure they operate and maintain is vital to both national and local economies, and our provision of traffic management enables this to continue safely.


    As long as our customers want us to provide the necessary traffic management to allow them to undertake these works,  then we will provide traffic management as we have always done, working strictly in accordance with our Coronavirus Guidance for on-site staff, and of course, any changes to Government policy or restrictions imposed by local authorities.


    As long as our customers want us to provide traffic management then we will provide the service and support required.


    Unless we hear differently we will continue as normal and will attend jobs that are booked and planned for in our system.

    We would like to start off and wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.   

    As part of our ongoing commitment to support our local communities we have agreed to sponsor the logistics of this walk which is to raise awareness of a new CIC (Community Interest Company) #FORRONAN which is set to become the legacy of the late RONAN COSTELLO, a young man who sadly passed away playing the game of RL for the Huddersfield academy.

    Ronan was a committed young person who enjoyed a challenge & always gave 100%. These qualities will be embedded into every event/challenge & project that hashtag#FORRONAN delivers.

    This challenge is no different and the 8 (which includes ex professional rugby league players and ex-servicemen) will set off on Friday 10th January and  venture coast to coast ON FOOT in under 3 days. They aim to cover over 125 miles travelling from Barrow-in-Furness on the west coast to the Saltburn Cliffs on the East side of the UK.

    The funds they raise will be used to help with the CIC set up costs & begin to build funds that will be used to offer young people in our community new experiences based on #FORRONAN core values:

  • The Wildlife Aid Foundation & Hedgehogs

    We were recently advised a client of ours, that one of their colleagues, Kate Woods, works tirelessly to raise money for the Wildlife Aid Foundation and is actually one of their ambassadors with a commitment to raise £10,000 per annum for the charity.  She has been extremely successful in her efforts and to date has raised in excess of £100,000 which is quite extraordinary. The Foundation is currently seeking to raise money to save hedgehogs from extinction.  We couldn’t believe the most quintessential British mammal faces extinction – but their numbers have dropped from 30 million in the 1950’s to less than a million today.  The Foundation hopes that by over wintering 100 hedgehogs in safety this year this could lead to an additional 35,000 hedgehogs by 2030.

  • Trussell Trust

    We had a collection last week of food in support of the Trussell Trust – a charity that runs food banks for people who are locked into poverty – be it homeless people or people trapped into the cycle of tax credits and low income.

    They provided 1.6 million 3-day food parcels last year and their mission is to ensure no one should go hungry, especially at Christmas. Helen took the parcel to their Belle Isle collection point and they were delighted and grateful for the food donated.

  • Army Freedom Parade

    On Wednesday 3rd April 2019 we undertook the traffic management at the Army Freedom Parade for 2 Signal Regiment on behalf of York City Council.

    We worked closely with the Local Authority, Police and local businesses to ensure the event ran smoothly and all stakeholders were communicated with and kept informed on the build-up and throughout the event.

    The regiment was awarded the Freedom of the City in 2001 as recognition for it's work in protecting thousands of homes in the Leeman Road area of the City, during the disastrous floods that hit the city in 2000.

  • Flood risk reduction work at Stourton

    Today Centurion were pleased to welcome a visit from the Leader of Leeds City Council, Councillor Judith Blake and Deputy Leader Councillor John Lewis, together with a delegation from Leeds City Council and the Environment Agency. 

    The councillors were keen to learn of the Company’s experiences in the devastating Boxing Day floods of December 2015 and to understand how we coped at the time and the challenges faced recovering from the floods.  The delegation viewed photographs of the site under water and then toured the site to view the recent flood protection measures installed.  They were keen to explain some of the measures taken in the wider area to protect the city and businesses operating in the immediate area, which was very much appreciated.  

    It was a worthwhile visit for all involved and Centurion were also able to give an insight into the world of traffic management.

  • Total Warrior 2018

    On 23rd June a Centurion team of 6 took part in the Total Warrior event at Bramham Park near Leeds, competing with thousands of other “warriors” in glorious sunshine and 25 degree plus heat.  Good spirits ensured all completed the 12km course and tackled the 25 punishing obstacles with aplomb, raising over £1000 for St Gemma’s Hospice in the process – a hospice local to our Leeds office and a very worthy cause.

    Congratulations to Paul Bray, Craig Haynes, George Stern, Lewis Carter, Jonny Hart and Bianca Heilig for the hard work they put into this, and many thanks to the suppliers and friends who sponsored them so generously.

  • Leeds Bubble Rush 2017

    On Saturday 22nd April 2017 - Jennifer, Tracey, Helen and Gemma in our Finance department are taking part in the Leeds 5k Bubble Rush for St Gemma's Hospice, where along the 5k course there will be numerous different coloured bubble stations blowing out 30 cubic metres a minute of coloured bubbles making a 4ft bubble wall.

    Last year's event was attended by over 3000 people and raised nearly £100,000, so the Finance team are hoping to add to this and raise as much money as possible. If you would like to help sponsor them - please visit their Just Giving page here

  • Conflict Resolution Training

    Conflict resolution training was provided to our employees to help identify and deal with physical and verbal abuse in roadside situations. The course provided for our employees by RAM Training and was well received by the employees who took part. 

    The course content involved realistic scenario based training exercises, with two main areas of training conflict resolution and breakaway techniques. With conflict on-site unfortunatley becoming a more regular occurence, we decided to go down this route to prepare our workforce for the everyday challenegs that may arise.

  • Quality Management

    ISO 9001:2015

    The new standard was introduced in September 2015 and companies have a 3-year transition period to convert all their original policies and procedures to meet the new standard specifications. As a company, we decided that rather than going through the re-certification audit for the renewal of the 2008 standard, we would concentrate our efforts on achieving the new standard. This involved the task of a complete overhaul so that the January 2016 audits could be undertaken against the new standard.

    Centurion had held the ISO 9001:2008 standard since January 2012, but now holds the new standard of ISO 9001:2015

    This process was 5 days of audit by UKAS accredited body SGS(UK) Ltd, which resulted in no non-conformities on both the certification and surveillance. Following this audit, the only observations were of a positive nature.

    All at Centurion would like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported our coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. With the help of everyone we raised £161.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

    At the end of June 2015 Centurion Traffic Management moved its Head Office into a purpose built site just off the M1 in Leeds.

    The new location in Stourton, Leeds will accommodate the growth of the company, providing a stronger presence in the north while continuing to build on the connection the head office has with the rest of the company’s regional depots and offices.

    Commenting on the move, Ian Magrane, Director said: “We have had a number of new people join the team recently to help progress the company forward. The new offices, depot and yard space substantially increases the amount of working space we have, and they also provide a much cleaner, more modern working environment. The links we have to the nearby motorways and the centre of Leeds were also a major consideration when picking this site and we are delighted to be finally in”.

  • The move begins...

    Following our decision to move to new premises at the start of the year, the process has now kicked on a gear as the site begins to take shape. Moving from our long term home in Wakefield has been a difficult decision, but we believe the site in Stourton, Leeds will be able to offer us a much better environment for our employees while retaining the opportunity for future growth.

    As the new home for our head office was just a piece of land, seeing the buildings being erected and the yard taking shape is a culmination of a lot of hard work coming to fruition.

    Commenting on the move, Ian Magrane, Director, said: “We have had a number of new people join the team recently and the new space will be able to accommodate this and give us the opportunity to continue the recent growth of the company.     Impact protection vehicles are a vital tool when installing traffic management systems, not only on motorways but also on low speed dual carriageways and single carriageways dependent on the risks that are raised during the risk assessment process.

    On September 25th we took delivery of our brand new IPV, an investment in the future and safety of our workforce, clients and the general public.

  • Dawlish

    Centurion's emergency response with traffic management equipment and trained operatives, working in teams over 24/7, is assissting Network Rail in repairing serious damage to the sea wall and railway in Dawlish, Devon.

    The damage was caused by the much publicised storms in the south west of England and will take many weeks to reconstruct. Concrete has to be pumped over a considerable distance from the nearest usable road. The traffic management is in place to enable the safe entry and exit of a large amount of heavy supply vehicles and plant in order to safeguard site staff and pedestrians, whilst ensuring all roads are kept open for the safe passage of residential and through traffic.

  • Centurion TM & Cancer Research UK

    Centurion Traffic Management has secured over 25 events for Cancer Research UK in 2013. These events are spread across the country from Norwich to Hull and Harlow to Huddersfield.

    After the success of our 2012 events across the country we will now be working on a number of events in new areas following the hard work of the Centurion events team.

    By working together with Cancer Research UK, we have looked at cost saving ideas, the use of our operatives on site and utilising our national coverage of depots and staff to cut down on travel time to sites.

    We are very proud once again to be a part of the Race For Life events programme for 2013.

    2012 saw Centurion open the doors in its own new Training Centre with bases in Wakefield, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. This long term goal was achieved with the company’s focus on delivering not only quality on site, but also off it with the commitment to offer a wide range of training services both its own personnel and external parties in operational and managerial activities.
